Janquil and Marvin Malone are the proud founders of A Seat at the Table (ASATT), a nonprofit dedicated to empowering children and their families with vital resources, opportunities, and support. With a deep commitment to communities across Los Angeles County, and a special focus on the Antelope Valley region, their vision is rooted in the belief that strong families build strong communities. 

 

Their journey began many years ago as young parents seeking the best for their own children. That passion blossomed into a lifelong calling to serve other families. Today, they own and operate a trusted childcare facility in Antelope Valley, where they have provided more than 24 years of nurturing, educational, and dependable care to generations of children. 

Both Janquil and Marvin were part of the pilot Early Childhood Education (ECE) program through Compton Community College, finishing at the top of their class. Their academic journey continued with studies in ECE at Pacific Oaks College and social work at UCLA, shaping their expertise in child development and family advocacy. 

 

In addition to her leadership at ASATT, Janquil partners with Best Start AV and First 5 LA, strengthening her ability to connect families with vital resources and community networks.

With a strong background in education and family engagement, Marvin Malone has spent over a decade serving the Inglewood Head Start program as a Community and Parent Liaison, where he worked to bridge the gap between families, schools, and essential resources. His dedication to supporting both children and their caregivers continued through his administrative roles at Opportunities for Learning Charter School and Learn4Life Academy, where he contributed to creating pathways for academic success and personal growth. Marvin’s career reflects his passion for empowering families through access, advocacy, and education—a commitment he now continues through his leadership at A Seat at the Table.  

 

Together, the Malones bring a unique blend of professional experience, academic training, and personal passion that fuels the mission of A Seat at the Table—ensuring that every child and family has a place to grow, succeed, and thrive.
